Meet Kane!

Approximate Weight: 85 lbs
Personality: friendly, happy, exuberant
Observations with Dogs: has done well with other friendly dogs
Observations with Cats: not yet tested, but given his size and energy, he might do best in a home without cats
Observations with Kids: not yet tested with young children
Currently Living at: DC area foster home

This glorious and stately looking gentleman is a wonderful pup! His human entrusted us with finding Kane a forever home when he sadly could no longer care for him.

Kane is a friendly, playful, and outgoing boy who came to us several weeks ago lacking basic manners. Thanks to his wonderful foster, and his abundance of smarts, this boy has been transformed into a very well-mannered pup!

His ideal forever family will enlist the help of a fear-free, force-free trainer who will help continue to teach him good manners and habits, as well as provide him with loads of exercise each day. He’d love a securely fenced-in yard to play in, but absent that, his adopters would need to commit to day care, daily dog park visits, and/or running with him daily.

In return, he will thank you with sloppy kisses and help you stay fit, all while he entertains you with his goofy antics.

He has done well in the crate in his foster home and has been a rock star with housetraining!

He is human friendly and good with other friendly dogs, but has not been tested with cats. His former human has shared that Kane has lived with young children and did well, but given his large size and apparent lack of awareness of his size and strength, would do best in a home without young children.

Like most shelter dogs, Kane may need a refresher on housetraining and crate training. We ask all of DC PAWS’ fosters to work on both house and crate training with their foster dog.
