Breed: Whippet mix
Approximate Age: 3 years old
Approximate Weight: 14 lbs
Currently Living at: DC area Foster home
Chestnut is more than good looks and legs for days… this sweet boy is affectionate, quiet, and eager to please! When he walks, he struts like a supermodel on the runway. Seriously, we have it on video. He doesn’t walk so much as he prances. It’s adorable.
Fairly typical for a Whippet mix, Chestnut is sensitive, quiet, and bonds to his humans quickly. His foster reports that he is the perfect houseguest and steals the hearts of nearly everyone he meets, which is why we’re surprised that he’s not already making somebody home a little warmer this fall! Chestnut is about 3 years old and 14 lbs, and is fairly low energy. He does well with gentle children and other dogs. We haven’t cat-tested him yet, but can easily do that if you have feline family members. This boy would love a family of his own to snuggle with and explore the neighborhood.
Like most shelter dogs, Chestnut may need a refresher on house training and crate training. We ask all of DC PAWS’ fosters to work on both house and crate training with their foster dog.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350. If you are interested in adopting Chestnut, please submit an adoption application at http://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-info/.
